I can start the MUD server correctly, but when I run Telnet or zMud, connecting to my computer, it freezes. I am running Windows98SE using the pre-compiled SMAUG downloaded from this site. Am I doing something wrong? Or is it my computer? (Other Specs for computer: 64MB PC100 RAM, AMD K-6 Processor)

I think there are some other posts about this. Try looking at the subject "Smaug crashes when I input password on login" which is in the subject list for this part of the forum.

ye s i also had this problem whereas i input a password and the mud crashes. I was running off linux and the crypt files were off. I have no idea how to fix this .. but you can go into the makefile in the src file and declare nocrypt..
