What do you mean by "click on a trigger"? Do you mean you are viewing the trigger list and edit one, or something else?

I know if you click off the trigger window elsewhere and you can't click that area until you close the trigger window, it'll beep. But I think that's Windows behavior.

When you make a trigger you end up with a list of triggers in the window. (the list)

When I click on the item to select it I get a windows system beep. I have all computer sounds turned off and I've disabled the system speaker in Vista.

Talking to HP they can't figure it out either (well they were clueless)

Are you editing a trigger at the time? The trigger editing is modal, that is you have to click OK or Cancel to finish editing one trigger before you can use the list again.

I am having trouble visualizing the problem here. You say it beeps when you click on an existing trigger to select it? However you can add them, otherwise you wouldn't have a list of triggers in the first place.

  1. After the beep, does the "edit trigger" dialog appear?
  2. Can you select triggers by using the arrow keys?
  3. What version of MUSHclient are you using?
  4. What operating system are you using?
  5. Are any other dialog boxes at all open at the time? For example, an error message?

Ok I put 2 in the list. It happens when I click on them with a mouse or if I change back and forth with the arrow keys.

I have the latest version of Mushclient I think: 4.37

I'm running Vista Home Edition.

No edit trigger dialogue appears and no error messages are currently up.

It also happens on the Alias page, Macros, Variables... everywhere there is a list.

The latest version you can download is 4.40, see here:

http://www.gammon.com.au/forum/?id=9264

However I am not aware of any changes that would affect what you are describing. I have not heard of this problem before.

I cannot think what is causing this. I have run MUSHclient on Windows 98, XP, Vista, and under Wine on Ubuntu and other flavours of Linux.

I presume you are left-clicking? And that you haven't configured the mouse in a strange way (eg. to swap the buttons or something)? You are the first user to report such a thing.

Control-C (copy) doesn't work either.

Control-V works and I can use the mouse to copy either with a right click or from the edit menu.
