At this stage, there is no offline area editor. Nick was talking about supporting Dawns area format in the future, but I don't believe his immediate plans are focusing on the area builder.

One of the Stormbringer admin is developing a webdriven room creator. With this you visually create the rooms with a mouse, (room orientation, sector types and room links only)... and it generates the commands to paste into dawn which will create what you draw using olc.

DoT imports ROM areas and the area editor on this site supports ROM areas, so you could use that.

However there is no editor designed for the full DoT area format right now that I am aware of.

I recently have finished a Offine Area creator that supports all DoT based areas. Email me if you wish to have a copy sent to you. I am not making it available via website until the Darksun website is completed.

Do note that this program is 3.10 MB in size zipped so please give me email information that will support that much memory. Also note that it includes the sectors "snow, ice, & trail." Unless you specially hardcode those sectors into your MUD, do not use them in your areas or you will find your MUD aborting as it searches for those specific room sectors.
