| Hi
I'm stuck with going online for my friends. All I receive is a 'connection refused' error. Firewall is out. And I'm using the precompiled version from this page.
Page me on ICQ, so I can show you the logfiles.
Regards

| You can email the log to me if you like. When you say "firewall is out" you mean there is no firewall?
What sort of connection do you have? (dial-up, cable, school?).
It is possible that "upstream" there is a firewall that blocks incoming connections. Also in a shared environment with IP masquerading you need to take special steps to accept incoming connections to a PC that is sharing a single IP address. |

| I believe you may be on a Dialup. The thing with those is this.
You have two IPs.
One reads 65.23.4.5
The other reads 172.34.1.34
The first one is your ISP assigned IP. That is the one that you probably have them connecting to. If you use the other one (which is the one from your internal stack) then your friends should have no problem connecting. The dialup IP always has a non-intrusive firewall setting. Unless it is a cheap ISP.
If you are still having problems letting others connect to you than I have no idea what to tell you.
Honestly I had the same problem and that fixed it, as ISP IP control is tighter than your own internal stack. |

| Hi
I'm connecting on a windows98 machine with a cablemodem.
This cablemodem is connected with ethernet to my ethernet-usb-adaptor.
Nortin Internet Security is disabled for my first steps.
I had ONE connection from Germany yesterday. But I can't tell you why it doesn't work anymore..
