| As the subject states there is a bug with leveling. I just found this out last night, a level 1 character killed a level 1 mob, then he raised up to the max level mortals can get, which in this case would be 50.
Heres what it shows:
A demon creature is DEAD!!
You receive 0 experience points.
You have now obtained experience level 2!
Your gain is: 0/100 mana, 10/110 mv 2/7 prac.
You have now obtained experience level 3!
Your gain is: 0/100 mana, 10/120 mv 2/9 prac.
You have now obtained experience level 4!
Your gain is: 0/100 mana, 10/130 mv 2/11 prac.
You have now obtained experience level 5!
Your gain is: 0/100 mana, 10/140 mv 2/13 prac.
You have now obtained experience level 6!
Your gain is: 0/100 mana, 10/150 mv 2/15 prac.
You have now obtained experience level 7!
Your gain is: 0/100 mana, 10/160 mv 2/17 prac.
You have now obtained experience level 8!
And it keeps going over and over.
Now as for the damage heres what I see:
You decimate A demon creature! [1]
You decimate A demon creature! [1]
A demon creature scratches you. [1]
You PULVERIZE A demon creature! [4]
A demon creature scratches you. [1]
You _devastate_ A demon creature! [1]
A demon creature scratches you. [1]
You _demolish_ A demon creature! [2]
Now that looks wrong if you ask me. :P
Could anyone tell how to go about this problem? Like which files to look for.
=EDIT= I never saw the bug display til today.
Log: [*****] BUG: Damage: 27169 more than 800 points!
Log: [*****] BUG: ** Obed (lvl 20) -> woman **
Obed **** SMITES **** A woman! [800]

| Well... that could be a problem. I changed several things during the past 4 months and it never occurred to me that I should test the fighting, so seems I have a long list to go through. | Top |

| I found the problem. It seems I forgot to set up the parameters of the race/class files, so all is good now, except the damage part. It still shows the numbers wrong. Any help on the damage part would be helpful. | Top |

| That's all in fight.c for instance in the damage function or the dam_msg function. (assuming I understand what you mean by 'displaying the numbers' correctly.) |
