Everytime I make a door with a key that opens it, when the server is restarted the doors are all open, we want them to start out closed and locked is there a way to do that or do we always have to go around locking them.

Also, does anyone know where we can get a FREE host for the mud server?

Doesn't setting the "closed" and "locked" flags work?

As for free hosts, I doubt you will find one that stays up for long. Maybe a friend with a cable can do it for you. After all, if someone posted a message saying that XYZ would hosts MUDs for free, two days later they would have 200 people wanting to use their "service" and they would probably change their minds.

isdoor
nopass
pickproof

I don't see any closed or locked unless there's some way I add them and I just don't know

More flags are available if you use a registered version.

Registered versions read flags from the configuration file. This lets you customise it to suit your MUD.

If you have a registered copy go to:

File -> Preferences -> Files

and in the "Configuration" box enter the appropriate configuration file name, smaugconfig.dat or romconfig.dat.
