I have smaug running smoothly now, without the endif's (as i posted in the smaug forum the other day) by just downloading again and reinstalling... now I have a new problem using the MUSHclient that I download from here.

When I try to connect to the smaug 1.4a for windows server, running on my pc, I get the following error from MUSHclient:

The "localhost" server has closed the connection.

I press ok, then get this message:

Unable to connect to "localhost", code = 0 (Unknown error code)

I have the NAME set to: localhost
I have the TCP/IP ADDRESS set to: 127.0.0.1
I have the PORT set to: 4000

Any clues? Thanks again. I'll keep trying in the meantime.

Are there any error messages in the SMAUG window? Sounds like you are being kicked off for some reason.

Ok, I got it to work, kind of..I still get the unknown error message, but it lets me in. I have to use the actual IP on my pc... and not 127.0.0.1 possibly because I'm on a network.

I have new question, and I've been looking for a while. I'm new to running this program, so bear with me on dumb questions.

HOW do I change the login screen? I can't find the ascii text used in the login screen anywhere. I want to edit it with my own ascii art. I know I need to keep some credits etc. in there. Can this be done online while logged in as lordrom? I can't seem to find the right command in the wizhelp if so.

Thanks.

This is really a question about running SMAUG, not using MUSHclient. Could you please repost it in that section of the forum, so that when others have the same question they may find the answer more easily. Thanks.
