Hello all,

First let me say, if this isn't the appropriate place for this, feel free to remove the post. Further, I'm not advertising on any major MUD-related sites, I felt it made more sense to target this to a specific audience, get my feet wet with such an approach.

I'm working on using Dawn of Time to move an existing MUD to a completely new iteration. I'm excited about using DoT and all of the features it has to offer.

I'm curious if there's anyone out there within the DoT community interested in coding for a well established, RP-oriented, fantasy-based MUD. We have a great deal planned and a great building staff already working away.

Without going into all the details of the MUD, if there are any coders out there familiar with the DoT codebase and looking for an interesting project, please feel free to get in touch via email (or by replying here).

Thanks.

Hi,

You may want to inquire at TMC (The MUD Connector) website at the listed address below:

Thanks.

Yes, I could advertise there and elsewhere like topmudsites.com, but I chose specifically not to, because I didn't want to open the opportunity to everyone and their dog. By posting here I hoped to tap into a small DoT community that was more knowledgeable and knew about each other. That way I could build an initial level of trust beyond just finding someone willy nilly in cyberspace.

I hesitate to advertise for coders all over the place and happen to find a nightmare person that throws a wedge in the team and even worse...

Clearly it must work to some extent though since so many people do it.

Thanks.

I'm game for coding. I'm sick of dealing with unestablished MUDs because everything I code just goes to waste. I started off in the DoT community many years ago when it was DoT1.1, and played until they upgraded. Since then I've played on a few of the offshoots running DoT codebase, and coded for a few. I worked on Endless Dreams for quite a while till the admin there attacked themselves (If you're concerned about rumours that one of the admin there was spreading around, I suggest you contact balo@storm-bringer.org as being the sysop he can tell you the truth) and went under. Mythrin: From the Ashes is kinda employing me, but they're days from going under as none of the admin there even shows up anymore and there is no pbase to speak of.

Anyway, if you're still looking for a coder who knows the DoT codebase, then feel free to contact me and ask any questions you may have.

I'm game if you still need coders.

Give me a buzz.

I've been involved with DoT *thinks*.. for alittle over a year now.

I'm in college so I don't have alot of free time, but I'll still give whatever I can.
