I know a lot of you have been itching to get this and only a few of you may have received it through email, but as we all know, email attachments aren't that all reliable. I have set up a temporary download site of both the pure dawn version and darksun version of the offline OLC editors. You may be able to download them at the following address. The zipped program comes with a readme that shows you how to properly set up the editor. If there are any dead links, please inform me ASAP. Thank you for your continued patience, its been a long 2 months :P.

Download at: http://members.socket.net/~turalyon/shadow/downloads.htm

Happy building

I received some emails about bad links. I fixed the problem, however, due to the late hour, I only have left the Dawn 1.69p Editor link open (dawnolc.zip). I should have the other editor links up and going tomorrow evening. Thank you for your patience :). Do note that I will be having these files in both .zip & .ace format.

You may download at:

The Darksun Offline Editor is now available on the temporary download site. The .ace files are not active yet and are the least important things on my "todo list" but will be up eventually. The other downloads are in standard .zip format.

If you are running a pure dawn-based MUD, it is recommended that you do not use all the darksun features, for they may not be compatible with your mud and could crash you unless you add specific/necessary hard code.

Any specific "features" I should not use?

If you are running the darksun-offline editor, features such as trail, ice, & snow should not be used. The MUD will not recognize it and simply cause a hotreboot failure or do_abort();

Do not attempt to make any kingdom in place of a clan via kingedit because once again, pure dawn code will not recognize kingdoms.

Darksun-OLC allows you to dynamically edit rooms faster without going into redit. Type "rflag" and you will be able to change the room flag without going into redit. Same with "rname" and all the "make" commands (makehill, makecity, makeswamp, etc.) Its to simply speed things along.

For most people, it will be more beneficial and easier to use dawn-olc since it is the most commonly used. That editor, you will not have to worry about accidently implementing something that may not be compatable with your MUD. If you have any questions, let me know and enjoy :).

"Dawn 1.69p Offline Editor" consists of pure dawn code and may be used for offline area development.
"Dawn 1.69p Offline Editor" zipped using winace.

Both of these links didn't work, I tried "save target as" but that didn't work either.

Any ideas?

Anywhere else I can get them from?

The version Daos is mentioning here is just a Win32 compile of Dawn with the addition of 3 sector types that the DarkSun mud uses. Dawn has since added native support for those sector types in the 1.69Q release, so you are better to use the latest Win32 build of Dawn available from the downloads link on http://www.dawnoftime.org/

We are currently transferring files over which is why the links are dead, I thought I had posted a forum but I guess I didn't. I'm glad Kal has those downloads ready for you all.

I was hoping that someone would have one of the editors they could send me since it seems the links are still dead on the afore mentioned webpage? Thanks in advance.

Just download the win32 version of dawn from http://www.dawnoftime.org/download/dawn1.69q-win32bin.zip (as it is a newer version of what Daos mentioned).
