| This forum section is for those developers who have downloaded the MUSHclient source (or the MUSHclient resources) and want to comment on the internal code itself (including making code improvements).
General suggestions should still be made in the main forum sections - this is really for stuff like "I think that piece of code could be improved", or "this doesn't compile under Visual Studio 7".

| I'm sure it's already been commented on somewhere else, but could someone bring me up to speed on the toolchain and dependencies necessary to compile MUSHclient? Is this in a developer's FAQ somewhere? | Top |

| I wrote a little guide based on my experience setting up the MUSHclient source [1], and if you use Visual Studio 2005 you can use the project files I've contributed to save you time. You'll need a full version of Visual Studio - that is, you can't use the Express version - and you might need the Platform SDK too [2], but that's nothing out of the ordinary.

| Since Google Wave was just released publicly, I thought it would be a good idea to set up a Google Group and use Wave with it. I've set up a group [1], if you want to try this out just click "Apply for group membership" and I'll add you. You also need to be registered on Wave [2], but then you just add "MUSHclient-dev@googlegroups.com" to your contacts list, select it in the list, and click "Group waves" to see the waves the group can view.
I posted a test one just to make sure it was working, and if you can see it, it's working for you, too.
It's fine if this doesn't go anywhere, but I'd like to at least try it out, if anyone else is willing. I'm keeping a Wave journal of my progress on a library I'm tentatively developing, and I wouldn't mind adding group access to it so people could see what I'm working on and add comments if they want.

EDIT: It should go without saying that you need to use the same account in the group as you do for Wave, though since both are Google services, this probably isn't a huge issue. |
