banned classes/races and char creation

Id like to put into the get_new_class and get_new_race nannys that if a class or race is on the ban list, it wont appear in the list of available choices, nor would it accept it as a valid answer. I wanted to see someone could help me out with the syntax of this. Thanks as always.

There already is class and race ban checks in (at least) SmaugFUSS1.9. What version are you using?
