All-righty. I am somewhat new to this, so, can someone please explain how to remove races and classes to me?

Are you looking to make Smaug race-less and class-less?
No no, just want to remove a few classes and races.
Remove the race from race.lst and classes are in class.lst
And that will remove them permanently from the mud lists as available and the "System" ?
Yes, but what is "System"?
"System" as in "Mud server program" and I deleted them from the list, the ones I didnt want, and it now shows up with nothing on the list, I am thinking maybe there is something more to this.

well, I removed Augurer, Cleric, Druid and Ranger as classes, Pixie, half-elf and sea-elf as races. ut when I do this in the manner you suggest, when I go to create a new character, none of the other races or classes show as available, all I get is: [] instead of [Warrior Vampire Thief] and so on. Same with races.

The server reads those files, so they should disappear from the server if you delete them from the files as Zeno suggested. What version of Smaug are you using? Some early ones had problems if you deleted races, from memory.

The original Smaug had some strange behaviours if you removed classes - I think a couple were hard-coded in, and if you removed them it went all strange. To say nothing of the errors that have been fixed. FUSS stands for Fixed Up Smaug Source.

Ok will give that a shot.
Ok, so I downloaded smaug17FUSS, made it, and compiled. There were tons of bugs, and upon logging in, it fails to recognize thoe look command, the who command, and MANY more :\
When compiled correctly, you should get no errors or warnings. The problem of no commands at all being recognized sounds very familiar. Please search this forum, or the SmaugFuss forum, for posts relating to that. It is something to do with dynamic linking I think.
Ahh ok, I obtained 1.9, compiled just fine. No errors, and race removal / class removal is fine :)
