(I'm sorry if this is the wrong sub-forum, but none of the others seemed any closer)

I was reading through the Common Wizard commands FAQ entry, and it says if you teleport to a room that doesn't already exist, it will create it and you can edit it with REDIT.

Then there is no entry for REDIT. I tried this however, with lordrom, and it only told me there was no such room.

Is there another way? Also, is there a way to allow non-immortals to create rooms?

Thank you,
Li

You have to actually have the area created for the range. You can't just teleport to a non-existant area.

What do you mean no entry for redit?

I understand the area must be created, but I couldn't make it work.

The entry I'm referring to is
http://www.gammon.com.au/scripts/showfaq.php?faqid=64&productid=6&searchfor=

On the SMAUG Server FAQ, question 2 is about Wizard commands. Under GOTO it mentions that it will create a room that you can edit using FEDIT, and says "See FEDIT", but then there is no FEDIT entry.

What's wrong, why couldn't you create the room?

It's redit, not fedit.
Quote:
GOTO

Syntax: goto <location>

GOTO takes you to a location. The location may be specified as a vnum, as the name of a mobile, or as the name of an object.

If the location is a vnum, and it does not already exist, and it is within your room vnum range; it shall be created for your to edit further with REDIT.

You may not GOTO a room if it is PRIVATE and has two (or more) characters already present, or if it is SOLITARY and has one (or more) characters already present.

See REDIT.
