I run the windows version of smaug 1.4a and it ran perfectly until yesterday. My computer froze, I rebooted and ran smaug and it started up. But then when I tried to connect to it my computer restarted itself instantly. So I tried again and again and it kept restarting as soon as I connected to localhost. So I got someone to connect to see if it was just me, and it restarted when they connected too. So I can run the mud but if anyone tries to connect it restarts my computer. I'm very suprised. Anyone know how to fix this? Thanks.
Windows version restarting my computer

First, make sure your files are not corrupted by running the "disk check" or whatever it is called. Maybe when it froze and you rebooted a file has been truncated or corrupted.
Then try replacing the smaug.exe file from where you downloaded or compiled it.
Then try replacing the other files it reads in (eg. area files, class, race, system, commands etc.). If one is corrupted then it may read nonsense in and try to interpret it.
Sometimes it crashes when you connect because connecting makes it do more work (eg. look up the list of classes).
