u can install something like global boards easily enough, that will work well, or u can just do some work with note boards and edit it to be more like mail

Have you looked into the many Snippets?
If you can find any for SMAUG, look at the mail
sytem for another similiar codebase. Heh, now your not
going to be able to just cut and paste, but try to see
how it is done to develope a mail system based off of that.
