| Hiya everyone,
Been a long while since I last posted on here, I gave up for awhile and decided yesterday to try again for something to do. Been having some major issues with getting cygwin to install correctly and even having some issues with starting the mud as well, I figured since it will actually end up with running the server to start here first. First off, Cygwin, its not wanting to install correctly, been having some major issues with package problems. Keep trying to install everything to try and fix it, but nothings working, I uninstalled everything and tried a full install again. Still having some problems. As soon as this install, kicks through a little more, I'll put the error I'm having up, I know some of them to start. Been looking through the forum for help, and haven't really found anything over the last few hours, thats why I'm making the new post.
Package issues
no package
boxes.sh exit code 2
exim.sh exit code 1
mined.sh exit code 1
some others popped up on the last attempted install, if they come up again, I'll let you know, but those 3 are the ones giving me the most trouble
EDIT side note, running windows vista 32bit
Re:EDIT here is the full error I got this time around
Package: No package
boxes.sh exit code 2
exim.sh exit code 1
mined.sh exit code 1
passwd-grp.sh exit code 1
postinstall-ec-fonts-mftraced.sh exit code 1
Thanks for the help. | Top |

| Ok, well, updating everything again seemed to work...sort of. I'm still running with those errors but I was finally able to get the mud up and running. I did get the
limit: command not found
ulimit: command not found
errors as well, but everything seems to be running fine.
Ok, now an actually coding question if you don't mind, wanting to put the respawn timers back to instant for the mobs, and its been like 4 years since I messed with building at all, where in the files(assuming area files), will I need to go to change the respawn timer? Thanks. | Top |

| You can't set an area to repop instantly as far as I know, you could set it to one minute but that's got potential to give you an awfully crowded area if you're not careful about it. You're better off, especially if you really want your mobs to come back instantly, in using triggers on the specific mobs. Perhaps a death trigger set to have another static mob mpinvoke the now deceased mob's vnum at the location's vnum. |
