| Wasn't sure which forum category this should go in, so I apologize in advance if this is placed in the wrong section. If so, then someone can tell me which is the appropriate area for my post and I'll just delete and remake.
Anyway, I recently nabbed some paid hosting. Right, anyway, a few friends and I decided that it would be fun to run a mud server/daemon on my web-server - Something I've never done personally, but have played with somewhat.
However, my service provider will not allow me to compile and run the mud server/daemon until I have e-mailed them a list of the server/daemon's requirements.
So... yeah.
Information or help on this would be much/greatly appreciated. | Top |

| MUDS require relatively light CPU/memory requirements and on the order of 300 mb of disk space (more or less depending on how you manage things.) Don't forget that you need disk space to compile your server - the generated object files are fairly large. For RAM, if you can, run it on a local setup e.g. Cygwin to see how much memory your game uses. E.G., my server uses less than 30 mb of RAM.
You will also need one port to run the game on. They will probably assign one to you. |
