Is there a way to enable a timer with a trigger ?

Yes.

Send To: Script (with scripting enabled, and VB) (if you want other language examples, check the function page:
http://www.gammon.com.au/scripts/function.php?name=EnableTimer and youll see them at the bottom)

Then send:
EnableTimer "TimerName", 1

Of course this requires your timer to be labeled.
