I noticed that tab completion will ignore a period. I would like it if it would also ignore other punctuation, such as question marks, explanation marks, and even (especially) the : character, which is the one I have to manually delete most often.

Go to File -> Global Preferences -> General and add any characters you like to the "Tab completion word delimiters".

Gah! Something about that configuration screen has me gloss right over that option, despite "looking" for the configuration option before I posted.
