I have an Asus PG27UQ monitor, and I have HDR on. I'm running on Windows 10. The colors seem off a bit, but there's a way of changing them. However, there's no option anywhere to change the cursor behaviors.

This sounds like an OS problem.

In Windows 10 -> Settings -> Cursor & Pointer there are various settings you can play with, for example "change pointer size", "change pointer colour", and "make the cursor easier to see when typing".

MUSHclient does not fiddle with the cursor much, except, I think, to make it look clearer over the output window which was needed for Wine (Linux and Mac).

Testing on my copy of Windows 10 its behaviour seems "normal" to me.

Nick, I just got these two possibly related videos from an Aardwolf player who has asked Windows to enlarge their mouse cursor (I believe 4x size increase).

First they reported that the "I" cursor was both small (unlike the arrow and hand, which are both shown enlarged in the video) and also fully black.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9-BDK_wqgPw

Then I asked them to reboot their computer and they said that the "I" cursor was still small but no longer fully black.

So perhaps there is something bad going on.

As an experiment I reverted the cursor-changing code to use the Windows cursor and not the in-app one.

Try downloading the pre-release version and seeing if that fixes the issue. See here for how to do that:

So far one person says this was a good change for them.
