Hi All,

I seem to have some problem when i try to run the MushClient. I get an error message as follows :

Unexpected file format.
Line 399: Value for attribute named 'name' not terminated (no closing quote) (problem in this file)

Could someone kindly assist me please?

Well, it sounds like whatever file is corrupted, although I haven't ever seen MUSHclient corrupt files on its own.

What are you doing to get this message?
What is the file, can you share it with us?

And what version are you using? It shouldn't do that on a new download. Is this happening on an existing world file, a new file, installing a plugin, or what?

How do i check what file is corrupted? I get those error msges once i open the MUSHclient.

have tried reinstalling many times but keep getting that error.

I downloaded the client from aardwolf - http://www.aardwolf.com/play/downloadmc.htm

Are you installing into the default (or normal) location of:


C:\Program Files\MUSHclient


I found some error messages when I tried to install elsewhere, but none if I accepted that as the default.

I suspect some of the things in their installation are using hard-coded references to that install location.

Try installing into C:\Program Files\MUSHclient and see if that helps.

I'll send a report off to Aardwolf. You could try contacting them in-game.
