| I don't see what is inconvenient about this forum, and certainly not what is inconvenient here and more convenient there. What problem is it that you're trying to solve? I see very many reasons not to move and none to move. |

| What is it that you don't like about this forum? Judging by how the PhpBB one you set up looks, it could be that you don't like the subsections being "hidden" inside the sections... is that it? |

| I was initially confused by the fact that you had posted your question in the Quilting section, plus the translations are hard to understand at times. :)
I gather from the link that you are suggesting that this forum be converted to use phpBB software?
As some of the forum members here may remember, I tried this a while back, and had an experimental forum going using exactly that software. However I did not think at the time that the advantages outweighed the disadvantages.
Certainly the phpBB style forums "look cute" and the multiple themes can give you a nice custom look. However this forum looks different to most other forums too, as it was custom written for this site.
From memory, some of the problems I had were:
- It doesn't seem to offer a "global" list of recent posts, as we get on this forum. I use that all the time to glance at and see if there is anything I need to reply to.
Look at this page for example: http://www.phpbb.com/phpBB/
Sure, it summarises who has posted recently in each section, but you need to visit each one individually to see exactly what has happened. I prefer my version.
- Since phpBB is so well known, it seems that spammers have automated tools to post to them (any one of them). This forum is different, so we have infrequent spam attacks.
- Some of the administrative things I wanted to do (like let people get an email for a posting in any section) don't seem to be supported.
- Some other things I wanted to do, like simply put a MOTD (Message of the Day) at the top of each page, or each page in a particular section, didn't seem to be supported.
I am familiar with how this one works, it was easy for me to add the RSS feed stuff, for example. I'm not sure whether or not phpBB supports that. I could also convert part of this forum into wiki-style. I don't know if phpBB supports that either.
To be honest, I think you would need to identify multiple, major, problems with this forum before I would be interested in changing it over. So far we have been operating for a number of years without many complaints.
