It should be possible, yes, since they're plain ASCII and not Unicode. Are you having trouble with it?

I have effectively the standard caracteres:
Abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz
ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ

But I do not arrive has to compile SMAUG with caracteres:

Éàèù ê ô û î.....

If accidentally I place without realizing a caractere stressed as:
Je vais au marché acheté du nougât.
or
Cet été j'étais au théatre

And what I compile then I read it:

Je vais au march achet du nougt.
or
Cet t j'tais au thatre
