When I changed my email address on the forum recently, it changed my password too to some jumble of letters and numbers. Would be a lot more convienent if it did not change it if I changed my email. :)

The forum sends a new password to verify the email addy, or at least that's what it says in regards to changing your email.

I imagine it would also act as a security feature, prevent someone who happened upon you still logged in to a forum (via cookies) to change your email address to theirs, and then figure out what your password was (which you could use on other sites, etc).

True. I use a private computer, no cookies, and I have some unique password for this site so I never thought of that possibility.
