You only need to register in order to post messages.

The registration process simply ensures that we have a valid email address on file for you, so that when you request to subscribe to certain topics, the notification messages will be sent to you and not someone else.

After registering you can optionally enter biographical information (by editing your "profile"), to help other users get to know you better.
