Greetings,

I've been using Mushclient close to fifteen years and I want to start by thanking the creator for his software. However, I am running into a bit of an accessibility needs issue. As of late I am finding the white / gray borders of the mushclient window are very bright and hurt my eyes, especially since all the connections inside are dark. I use dark mode on windows 10, but how can I get the mushclient gui to go dark as well? Can you please help me out. Thank you!

This has come up before. See: https://www.mushclient.com/forum/bbshowpost.php?bbsubject_id=14254

In that thread I link to another page https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/bb773175(v=vs.85).aspx which I believe describes the cause of the problem. Unfortunately when I tried to do what that page says, I wasn't able to get it to work. Someone with more patience and/or knowledge about Windows 10 software development may need to help.

The client was started in 1995, 26 years ago, using Microsoft's MFC libraries. They make things easy to code, with the penalty of making this hard to change if you don't do things "their way".

Trying to change stuff like that involves fighting code that you haven't written and don't control.

I'm sorry, but I don't know of an easy way of doing it. You can eliminate some of the borders by going into full-screen mode, and you can change the background and foreground colours of the command window area. You can also eliminate the various toolbars that show things like actions and world icons.

I realize, a lot more than I did in 1995, about things like accessibility, different languages, Unicode, scripting, and so on. If I wrote a new client I would do things better. However the demand for MUD clients seems to have diminished over the last 26 years, as games with 3D interfaces (like Final Fantasy 14) have become popular.
