PennMUSH server

PennMUSH server - Win32 compiled version

I have stopped doing "precompiled" versions of the PennMUSH server for a number of reasons ...

  1. It is time-consuming to do a new binary (executable) every time a patch to PennMUSH is released, and thus my version here tends to be out-of-date.
  2. Nowadays you can do your own with Cygwin, which works very well. You can get Cygwin at http://www.cygwin.com/
  3. There are precompiled versions available at http://code.google.com/p/pennmush/wiki/Downloads and http://download.pennmush.org/Win32Binaries/

If you would like compile your own, take a look at the web page How to make changes, including compiling. This page shows how to compile SMAUG, including discussions about the difference between source and object, and what 'linking' is. Much of it is relevant to PennMUSH.

If you have problems compiling, post a question to the PennMUSH forum

PDF version of the tutorial

The tutorial file mentioned above can only be read with WordPad or the old "Write" word processor. I have converted it into a PDF file to make it more portable, however its size seems to have increased somewhat. :)

There are various ways of reading PDF (Portable Document Format) files. One is to use Adobe Acrobat Reader which is a free download. There are also other readers available, for instance using Mac OS you can use their Preview program to read it.

The PDF version can be downloaded from:
